Go to hell don’t ask don’t tell

I was working out at the gym when I caught the live coverage of the Senate voting to repeal
DON’t ask don’t tell

IT brought to mind the night my best friend, an African American was brought to tears as she watched the first African American president win the election.

I can’t believe I’m seeing this in my life-time she said.

I guess my moment maybe wasn’t quite as intense as hers, but right there in the middle of my work out, I started to think about what was happening in front of me on the screen.
The first soldier to be kicked out the American military for being gay was 232 years.

232 years of gay men and women willing to risk their lives for our country but having to hide who they were is now coming to an end.

It’s hard to believe that anyone could vote against this repeal but no matter. I’m so happy that it was repealed and happier still that 8 republicans were able to do the right thing even if they might take shit for it.

For the first time in history, gay men and women in the U.S. military will be able to serve loud and proud!

I gotta say folks im friggen choked up!!

So three cheers for Senator Joe Lieberman who I never liked before this, but he surely did do the right thing on this one
And also for Senator Susan Collins who helped push this great repeal through big time!

every once in awhile the right thing really does happen
and it’s nice that it was bi-partisan for once
gives me hope my dears

taxes and babs and xmas oh my

hey kids sorry not to post sooner
been knee deep in mishegash
but here i am my dears
so here’s what i think
on the whole tax thing with obama
i mean hello can this guy catch a break
he crosses party lines to try and make nice and make a deal with the republicans
and the republicans still trash the guy
and now the dems too
oy
i would not want his job
he’s aging faster then a slice of apple on a hot day

i watched one of my idols barbara streisand on larry king last night
love me some babs
and okay she’s a bit too ocd with her “houses i’ve designed” book and the room dedicated to dolls she’s collected and all that but hey
the woman is a diva and deserved to collect whatever she wants
she brought up some good points on “don’t ask, don’t tell”
but mainly she said what i think
which is that anyone crazy enough to be willing to risk their life for their country should be allowed to
who cares whether they are gay or straight

i’m certainly not willing to go to Iraq or aphganistan?
lordy no im not!!!

so it’s high time we got rid of this ridiculous pile of puppy pooop

on other news
it’s the holiday season
for many of us a time of a great cheer
for some of us a time of great sadness

im thinking about reaching out to the trevor project
to help gay teens live and not commit suicide
to help them know they are loved and they are just fine the way they are

what will you do to make someone else’s life
better?

it’s time to give love
not just take it

happy chanukah and happy ho-ho ya-all
