King shming

Ding dong the witch is dead
The wicked old witch is dead
I mean king
I mean emperor
I mean
President?

Well whatever
It was nice to hear that the baby bush finally got slapped into some kind of behavior modification
I think they should have crated him
And rolled up a newspaper but that’s just me

I did kinda love the quote though, that judge musta been a sucker for reading his words in press cause they were meant for headlines..

Here’s the blurb in case you missed it, though I doubt that you did..

**Noting "there are no hereditary Kings in America and no powers not created by the Constitution," a federal judge ruled Thursday that President Bush had exceeded his authority when he allowed the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on Americans without a warrant.**

I know I have some readers who feel the Bushie should be allowed to spy on us at whim to save our lives..from the terrorists out there…but I say once, you start to erode the Constitution to protect its people, you start to create exactly what we’re fighting against.. loss of freedom…dicatatorship…the whole shebang..

Well I guess the court felt the same way I do that no president, not even one who rides ponies has the right to “inherent power” to violate congress and constitutional laws of the first and fourth amendment.

I say the emperor is naked! I mean the king is de-throned! I mean oh whatever…

dress mess

ya know say what you will about the man
i kinda like that the mayor of new orleans refuses to wear anything but shorts in honor of the katrina tragedy

i was thinking maybe i should do something in honor of the george dubya bush tragedy, 8 years of america being suckered

ya dont like george
ya dont like god

ya dont like the war
you're anti american

sheesh
what ever happened to free thinking independant thought in this country?

is it really the 1950s all over again?
anyway
in honor of the bush tragedy i have decided the following

i will not wear a dress
ever

hehehehe

ok i admit
i dont anyway
but now i have a cause

The Marriage Amendment

The Senate votes this week on a proposed constitutional amendment banning marriage with anyone with a below average IQ

To become law, the proposal needs to pass the Senate and the House with a two-thirds vote. It would then have to be ratified by at least 38 state legislatures.

President Bush begged the American public to not let this pass as he will then be forced to have his marriage annulled.

He plans on using his radio address to demand rights for the non intelligent to marry.

Supporters say the amendment is needed to prevent “those dummies from getting hitched!”

wash the mess

Any ideas how the bush spin machine is gonna wash this one?

We’ve got cheneys top aide spilling it that bush authorized the leak
Heading right into Plame Gate

Well of course the spin machine is already working
But im thinking just maybe
Please lord
It’s a bit like the great and powerful oz
And all of us who aren’t in a coma
Are maybe
Peeking behind the curtain

Sheesh
20 years from now
everyone who voted for bush is gonna be too embarrassed to say so in public
but for now the great brain spin wash
is in full cycle
wash rinse
no weapons of mass destruction
wash rinse
we had nothing to do with the leak
wash rinse
love our fema
wash rinse

another one bites the bush

Well I guess you’ve all probably checked out The New York Times expose on how our president has since 2002 authorized phone and email taps of thousands without a court approved warrant.

The reason it took this so long to hit the press is because the bushies got the times to sit on the story for a year.

Now that the cats out of the bag ….numerous former officials under anonymity are calling it a real stretch of the constitutional rights for legal search..

Yep…here we go again.

Every day since 911 I have watched this administration turn our country more and more into what feels like a sick version of “1984” with big brother around every corner..

All this of course in done in the name of our protection.. and our fear is lassoed like a giant bull (being the appropriate animal hear) to erode our liberties and let giants piles of bull dung like the patriot act come crashing through into our lives..

Course the Bushies, consider all this to be absolutely necessary to protect the U.S. against the ummm infidels…no we’re the infidels, always get that confused… and if you don’t’ agree than your anti American and your worse a terrorist sympathizer…

You don’t like your library records read, your email read without warrant, hey this is all part of protecting the great US Of A..

What about monitoring the peaceful antiwar requests sorta like oh the 60’s yes the 60’s in which occurred incredible abuse of the blatant revulsion of the human rights of the anti-war protestors. But supposedly we had learned from all that and imposed limits on what intelligence could gather in this country and how we could do it. The SEARCH WARRANT was the major gain here. The SEARCH WARRANT is the major loss under the bushies and so for that matter are we..

bush dump

well i hate to kick a guy (or gal) when hes down
but in the case of the baby bush Ill make an exception
seems like folks generally agree that that bush mans
second term is off to a terrential pile of crapola

not that his first term was any grand
success either
unless you're a holy roller marching on the anti abortion trail
hes done lots to slow down abortion

there was that horrific screw up with hurricane Katrina

gas prices thru the roof

the death toll in Iraq rising above the 2,000 point

a whole lot of concern over his nomination of Harriet Miers

and theres that whole
bushies leaking the CIA identity thang too

oh so only now
basically cause
the death toll had exceeded what the public can tolerate
cause you know
1500 deaths was like not that bad
and only now cause folks cant afford to fill their gas tanks
are they realizing that the man
in office is maybe
oh not so very good for the country
jeez
ya know
after he (stole) the election the first time
i thought
this country just voted republican
they didnt know what they were doing
didnt know much about the baby bush
except he had bad genes

but the second time?

then i said
the idiots in this country pretty much deserve what theyre gonna get
war
poverty
loss of rights

and now
hey its happening
so now id like to say

ok
his approval ratings
are at all time lows
does this mean you're gonna wake up and smell the coffee
or does this mean
you're gonna go back to the polls
and blindly vote for who-ever the bush camp endorces
maybe hey
jeb bush will be next
at that point
id have to say
kiss your ass and your country good-bye
cause neither of you will be around for long

The Big Greasy

Deja Vus…d0 do
Doo dooo dooo da doooo

Yep
It’s the money gang again
The same ol bush boys get the contracts at Katrina

Oh what a surprise Halliburton, Bechtel, Fluor, and the Shaw Group
Are taking center stage in the rebuilding of New Orleans
Cause they’ve done such a bang up job in Iraq.

Um..weren’t some of these folks the same folks who have been widely blamed for enormous moolah abuses in Iraq?

Like oh…giving contracts without even taking other bids…little things oh billion dollar of our money little things like that

But no matter cause dicky cheney loves his haliburton
And these companies love their bushies and everyone does have to get along at the golf course now don’t they

And well of course the baby bush is by now a proven expert on how he handles financial decisions having done such a bang up job in texas and in Iraq

And heres the best news of all
The spin doctor
The maestro of manipulation
Karl Rove is
Being put in charge of the rebuilding of New Orleans

Oh hurray
Now billions of our money will be in the hands of un-ethical bush loving corporations
And Rove will make sure that every penny spent furthers the bush agenda
Oh those pesky displaced victims
If only they weren’t in the way!!!!

Yep
They’re gonna build New Orleans all right
Only it won’t be the big easy anymore

It’ll be the Big Greasy

way greasy

too much too little too late

It was fascinating to watch an hour of Ted Koppel's expose'
on what went wrong with the Katrina crises
which would have left anyone except for the blind and deaf
looking at the Bush Administration with concern
if not full out fury
then to watch the baby bush spend a half hour trying to spin
his lowest approval ratings ever
with some huge ass promises
how he or shall i say WE are going to pay for those promises
is the next question

many people
who point to the biggest screw ups here
point to
where the hell was the national guard
and what the hell happened to the communication

i thought the biggest lesson of 911 was communication
so clearly nothing learned here
and hello folks
the national guard
you know they're in um IRAQ

so we can't save our own people from drowning cause our money
our military
our energy
and our resources are still fighting in Iraq

id like to think the baby bush will follow thru on some of his promises
but i kept hearing that song in my head the whole time he was talking

too much too little too late

listen folks
the speech the baby bush gave
was all about rebuilding new orleans and the gulf
but what i saw is something i have rarely seen in the baby bush's face
fear
his presidency is now at an all time low
and he knows it

the baby bush has won over perhaps half of this country
with his cowboy mantra
under me you will be protected
but honey
to new orleans
its more like under me
you may well die of neglect at the superdome
while waiting
waiting
waiting for federal aid to come

I am glad bush took responsibility for the federal governments failures
as every captain should do with his ship but i have a whole lot of concern with the investigation he said he is ordering...if he really wants to rebuild trust
i certainly think a good start would be to have the group that investigates
the katrina errors be a group that is not loyal to him

they say this will be the largest rebuilding in history
and i believe it
but i also know that given a chance to do this rebuilding
can not
be a time for a conservative agenda
but a time for a bi-partisan
open minded
voice
this bush does not have
and i do not think he is in-cabable of rebuilding new orleans
without sticking in his own agenda while doing so
and yes i admit few people could be this self-less
but thats that what this job calls for
a no agenda agenda

i will say
that i too
like many americans
have concern about how much racism
played in the katrina tragedy
i do not believe
that were the same thing to have happened in Boston
the federal response would have been as late coming
but of course i can not prove this

i will go back to what i said awhile back
that this is not really the best time to put our full energies on the blame game
but it is also not right to let people die without answering why it happened
and how it could be better next time

as much as i full out just can't stand this president
i do hope his plans work
and that this city is rebuilt
and these people's lives are restored

i also hope that maybe this tragedy
will cause people in this country wake up
open their eyes
and pay attention
its our world
lets not get snowed over

To Point a Finger Towards the Bush Means to Burn

I’m trying very hard to post-pone joining the blame game right now while the aftermath of Katrina seems to be just as bad if not worse then Katrina itself, but with the Bush camp going back to their tried and true methods of avoiding any blame by making us feel like creeps if we ask the hard questions it’s getting harder and harder to keep my yap shut.

This tactic that has from day one worked fabulously well for the Bush camp is the “If you don’t support the president you are part of the crises," method.

It got him re-elected after there were no weapons of mass destruction. It deflected the nay-sayers of Donald Rumsfeld too.

This is how it works...if we dare to engage in pointing fingers at the Bush camp and how they have handled the Katrina crises we are taking away from the rescue effort of Katrina.

To question the decisions the white house has made right now means we are taking food out of the fingers of starving infants.

I resent this tactic but hey why shouldn't the Bushies use it. I certainly have witnessed how flawlessly well it has worked for the Bushies in the past.

When we questioned Iraq we were told we were not supporting our troops.

When we questioned Bush’s war on terror we were told that we were dishonoring all those who died on September 11th.

Now if we question the Bush camp’s errors in the Katrina crises we are told that we are pretty much stamping on the recovery effort.

I know full well that if a Democratic president sat in office right now and exactly the same things had gone on, the Republicans would have called for a nation-wife lynch mob.

You know it too.

I’m still trying to post-pone the blame game a little longer and concentrate my energies on doing what little I can to help, but being told that if I do point my finger towards the white house, I’m no better then another broken levee certainly isn’t sitting well with me.

From Arianna Huffington I have this on the subject
see Huffington Post
**
Here's one for the Hypocrisy Hall of Fame: At the same time the administration is putting Karl Rove's "pin-the-blame-on-the-locals" plan into effect, President Bush told reporters gathered at a cabinet meeting today, "I think that one of the things that people want us to do here is play a blame game. We've got to solve problems. We're problem solvers. There will be ample time for people to figure out what went right and what went wrong. What I'm interested in is helping save lives."

As if those seeking answers will have blood on their hands.

That's certainly the ominous rhetorical tack being taken by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. He's all about moving forward, and not looking back (which isn't surprising given how many corpses he'd see in his personal rear-view mirror). "What would be a horrible tragedy," he said, "would be to distract ourselves from avoiding further problems because we're spending time talking about problems that have already occurred." Gee, Mr. Secretary, I thought that was called 'learning from your mistakes.'

So the White House is for time management and against "finger-pointing" -- a two-talking-points-for-the-price-of-one Chertoff scored when he asked, "What do you want to have us spend our time on now? Do we want to make sure we are feeding, sheltering, housing, and educating those who are distressed, or do we want to begin the process of finger- pointing….

When it comes to managing political crises (as opposed to national ones), the Bush White House has earned a reputation as masters of damage control. And rightly so -- let's see you get reelected after Abu Ghraib, the "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US" memo, no WMD, no bin Laden (dead or alive), and "Mission (Most Definitely Not) Accomplished."

Well, according to the New York Times , Rove, Bartlett and the damage control boys are at it again, rolling out a plan to hang the post-Katrina debacle around the necks of Louisiana state and local officials... and, in the process, erase the image of a crassly incompetent administration too busy vacationing to worry about the dying in New Orleans.

Hence, Monday's Presidential Visit, Take Two. Can't you just see Rove yelling "Cut!", hopping out of his director's chair, pulling Bush aside, and whispering in his ear: "Okay, Mr. President, this isn't Armageddon meets The Wedding Crashers . So this time 86 the stories about how you used to party in New Orleans, and, for heaven's sake, do not focus on the suffering of Trent Lott. And no more hugging only freshly-showered black people who look like Halle Berry -- this time you gotta get a little closer to the living-in-their-own-feces crowd. Alright.... action!"
**

Anyway, here we are the anniversary of 911 is tomorrow and certainly all the New Yorkers I know myself included are finding the feelings coming up around Katrina are eerily similar to those that came up around 911 only this time, we’re the out-of-towners looking at the disaster from many safe miles away feeling helpless and frustrated at the site of so much death, loss and sorrow.

And here we are again watching the death, loss and sorrow of innocents be used as political pawns in another mass wave of propaganda.

The thing that has pissed me off perhaps more then anything else these last few years is the baby Bush lassoing “911” for his own political purposes, much of which had NADA to do with "911" and telling us that if we don’t support him we are spitting on the graves of those nearly three thousand lost lives.

If he does that now with Katrina I swear I’ll just drive out to the white house and take a poop on the sidewalk.

the great DUBYA war time vacation

okay
you know what
call me crazy
but i think that yeah
when the country is at a war
you took us into
and our boys and girls are getting killed
that you should not take your ass out of the office
and have a vacation

how the hell do you think the parents of dead soldiers feel
when they open up the paper and see the baby bush smiling away on his 5 week long vacation on the ranch?!

he deserves to have anti-war demonstrators bothering the hell out of him right now
how bout he spend 5 weeks in the trenches with the young americans he sent there?!

nah
the baby bush is tired
and stressed out
he needs to ride his bicycle and play with his horses

the baby bush of course feels justified
i mean he is the president right
so he needs to feel healthy and ready for the job
and oh a nice little 5 week vacation auta do the trick

hey dubya
how bout taking a moment to think about how your boys and girls overseas feel right now?
maybe just take 2 weeks off and be oh a little bit low key about it?

would it kill you?
cause its killing them!

i just think its bag friggen taste
thats all there is to it

Saturday, August 6

The Emperor's New Clothes

Well you must admit I’ve held true to my promise and not bashed the bush
The DUBYA kind not the good kind for well over a week…

Honey it has been hard to keep this mouth shut
But I have

So send money and margaritas if you’re impressed
Meanwhile

I took part in a lovely soiree on the shared deck
I have here with Liz and Debbie the dynamic duo

Claire, Mira, Dianne and Maureen came

All smart
Feisty
Outspoken babes
With an ax to grind

Always a good combo

We all got talking about politics
We’re all liberal democrats
NATCH
But we all felt rather disappointed with our party

And we all felt a strong, horrifying fear that we might get saddled with yet another bush in office

So whats the deal with the dems?
Whats the deal with the moderate republicans?

It seems like everyone is so afraid
With this boy that if they speak out against him
They get lynched
Or their spouse gets outed as a CIA agent
Or they get sent off to the burbs to retire peacefully and QUIETLY

Its like a nationwide case of the emperors new clothes

Everyone is afraid to be the first one to point out and say

The president is naked!

Where is that brave democrat who will rise up and scream

This dude’s got no clothes on!!!

Well the problem is just what happens next
Are we bravely rallying around this person?
Are we opening our eyes and looking too?

NO!

Cause now Americans are afraid of not only being called anti American if they speak out against the baby bush
But they’re afraid of being called anti-Christian too..

Masterfully done…I must say..

Well... I’m still calling out the dems…

Come on Dems!
You’ve got moderate Republicans all over this country who are fed up.
You’ve got Democrats who need a face they can believe in.

Is it time for a real third party?

Honey maybe it’s time for a real third party.

Either that…..or maybe the only third that’s gonna happen around here
Is a third world war.

rove vs. no way

Oh aren’t we all just soooooo surprised about bush’s boy Karl Rove.

Yeah what a shocker.

Yep when the identity of Valerie Plame as a CIA operative who just happened to be married to an ambassador and who just happened to speak out against the baby bush just happened to get exposed
Oh yeah
Well there was no way this was coming from the bush camp

And now will the baby bush
deny all knowledge
Or course the little coward will
Well of course
What a man
What a manly man

Will he hang Karl Rove
Doubtful
Can’t have that guilt by association thing can we?

Cooper trying to cover his ass from revenge by the bush camp
Had refused to reveal his source but thankfully after
Well not wanting to go to jail and that little confidentiality agreement being waved by rove is chatting up a storm,

Now Judith Miller of The New York Times,no doubt scared shitless of the bushies is rotting in prison for refusing to disclose her source
Guess she’ll be getting lots of presidential perks once she’s released
Or not nobody likes yesterdays news especially when it makes them smell bad

But I shed no tears for miller who didn’t have the balls (or well whatever girls have) to speak out when she should have this was not protect your source kinda thing this was different

So she goes to jail and what karl rove maybe will play golf or ride a pony at the bush farm
Right

Be interesting to see how the bush camp weasels out of this one
But we didn’t see rumsfeld ousted after the atrocities under his watch
My guess is we wont see rove ousted either
Cause bush does nothing wrong ever
And neither do any of his top guns

Friday, June 17

Where oh where is that dang impeachment?

Okay
I just gotta know
Call me ignorant
But why is there not a national movement to impeach GW Bush?

I just received an email from the great Greg Palast with the following time-line and I will just quote directly from Greg (read him on my linkie love list) below..
Thanks GREG as always you’re a brave soul in sea of conformists.

*******

February 2001 - Only one month after the first Bush-Cheney inauguration, the State Department's Pam Quanrud organizes a secret confab in California to make plans for the invasion of Iraq and removal of Saddam. US oil industry advisor Falah Aljibury and others are asked to interview would-be replacements for a new US-installed dictator.

On BBC Television's Newsnight, Aljibury himself explained,
"It is an invasion, but it will act like a coup. The original plan was to liberate Iraq from the Saddamists and from the regime."
March 2001 - Vice-President Dick Cheney meets with oil company executives and reviews oil field maps of Iraq. Cheney refuses to release the names of those attending or their purpose. Harper's has since learned their plan and purpose -- see below.

October/November 2001 - An easy military victory in Afghanistan emboldens then-Dep. Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz to convince the Administration to junk the State Department "coup" plan in favor of an invasion and occupation that could remake the economy of Iraq. And elaborate plan, ultimately summarized in a 101-page document, scopes out the "sale of all state enterprises" -- that is, most of the nation's assets, "… especially in the oil and supporting industries."

2002 - Grover Norquist and other corporate lobbyists meet secretly with Defense, State and Treasury officials to ensure the invasion plans for Iraq include plans for protecting "property rights." The result was a pre-invasion scheme to sell off Iraq's oil fields, banks, electric systems, and even change the country's copyright laws to the benefit of the lobbyists' clients. Occupation chief Paul Bremer would later order these giveaways into Iraq law.

Fall 2002 - Philip Carroll, former CEO of Shell Oil USA, is brought in by the Pentagon to plan the management of Iraq's oil fields. He works directly with Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith. "There were plans," says Carroll, "maybe even too many plans" -- but none disclosed to the public nor even the US Congress.

January 2003 - Robert Ebel, former CIA oil analyst, is sent, BBC learns, to London to meet with Fadhil Chalabi to plan terms for taking over Iraq's oil.

March 2003 - What White House spokesman Ari Fleisher calls "Operations Iraqi Liberation" (OIL) begins. (Invasion is re-christened "OIF" -- Operation Iraqi Freedom.)

March 2003 - Defense Department is told in confidence by US Energy Information Administrator Guy Caruso that Iraq's fields are incapable of a massive increase in output. Despite this intelligence, Dep. Secretary Wolfowitz testifies to Congress that invasion will be a free ride. He swears, "There's a lot of money to pay for this that doesn't have to be U.S. taxpayer money. …We're dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon," a deliberate fabrication promoted by the Administration, an insider told BBC, as "part of the sales pitch" for war.

May 2003 - General Jay Garner, appointed by Bush as viceroy over Iraq, is fired by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. The general revealed in an interview for BBC that he resisted White House plans to sell off Iraq's oil and national assets."That's just one fight you don't want to take on," Garner told me. But apparently, the White House wanted that fight. The general also disclosed that these invade-and-grab plans were developed long before the US asserted that Saddam still held WDM:
"All I can tell you is the plans were pretty elaborate; they didn't start them in 2002, they were started in 2001."
November/December 2003 - Secrecy and misinformation continues even after the invasion. The oil industry objects to the State Department plans for Iraq's oil fields and drafts for the Administration a 323-page plan, "Options for [the] Iraqi Oil Industry." Per the industry plan, the US forces Iraq to create an OPEC-friendly state oil company that supports the OPEC cartel's extortionate price for petroleum.
****

So here we are today…it seems like mainstream media are afraid to speak out against this administration…so are a lot of mainstream Americans.

The general mood is to speak out against the president is to speak out against America…..but this president is lieing to America for his own purposes and they are OILY ones honey... To be American is to be able to speak out against those who are supposed to represent you. Isn't it?!

We are in a time where it seems that the only way you can find honest, journalists brave enough to speak out against Bush is to read blogs.

Blogs are of course the curse and the scorn of mainstream media, only now they are being forced to listen to us bloggers, cause you know what, there’s a whole lot of us!

So what I want to know is this…let’s say you are pro Bush, pro war, pro Republican, pro the whole shebang….doesn’t it still bug the hell out of you that your president…slanted the facts, created the facts, to achieve a goal he had decided well before any facts were in?

Don’t you feel just a little bit manipulated and lied to?

Why the hell would you want to impeach a president for lieing about where he put his pecker and not want to impeach a president for lieing about the reasons to go to war, spend billions of dollars and kill thousands of people?!

Maybe I’m just blonde here…but honey color me confused.

Stamping on Stems

Stem this!

Well Georgie Poo is determined to prove once and for all that he is the official evangelical poster boy…

Yesindeedee he’s the real deal…Christian right puppet king…

While he’s taking a little break for trying to amend the constitution to keep them damn queers from getting hitched..he’s gonna take on stem cells

Yep
Nobodies gonna kill an innocent stem cell on his watch
Not while he’s the president for the lord
No sireee

Seems like folks in congress and all over the country are kinda thinking georgie poo should lighten up on the stem cell thing especially since most folks have at least one person in their life who could benefit from stem cell research

Coulda done wonders for georgie poos supposed hero
Ronnie Reagan

Anyway
Despite scientists all over the place
Declaring this the great hope for medicine of today.. georgie poos got a higher authority to contend with
Yep
He’s got the lord and well a whole boat load of ultra conservative backers
Who he doesn’t want to let down

So I ask ya...
Is it right for the president of the United States of America to impose his religious beliefs on us?!

I thought that was supposed to be a big whopping NO NO…in this country!

Now the baby Bush is threatening to veto a research bill that was approved by the House and seems favored by the Senate.

Why?

Well ya know kids…it’s like they say….”What would Jesus do?”

Cause you know the baby bush knows Jesus Christ intimately.

Christ is probably his lead advisor and no matter what the country over all wants, no matter what Science says..ultimately
George Bush is not nearly as concerned with the way this country feels about him as he is with the way Jesus and the Christian right feel about him..

And that my dears
Is a huge ass problem.

Now as to the stem cells …let’s see they have no chance of life, they can not survive outside of their little petri dish and there’s no way of them turning into babies… basically they’re just a plop of organic matter. comparable to what is often left in a dirty pair of underwear..

So I say
If we can’t save lives by using stem cells
Than nobody in this country should ever be allowed to wash their underwear again.

Cause washing underwear can and will destroy living organic matter!

So from this point on…I demand that George W Bush
Outlaw underwear washing in this country!

Save the stain!
Do not kill the stain!
Long live the stain!

Don't rain
on my stain!

Refrain from killing the stain!

oh this could go on forever

SS and Us

Okay tell me if I’m missing something here
But doesn’t the baby bush’s latest social security idea pretty much under-mine everything American is about..

That the poorest amongst us will reap the benefits but middle class folks will lose big time..

It pretty much goes back to what I’ve said for a long time, that more and more this country is turning into a country that supports its poor (somewhat) and rewards its rich but ignores its middle class.

As a middle class babe from a middle class background, I resent working my ass off my whole life to have the baby bush cut my benefits..

The poor in this country deserve all the help they can get don’t get me wrong, but don’t take away the incentive of the middle class while you’re at it.

So now, under the baby bush’s “progressive indexation” the low-income worker will be getting benefits up to almost half their wages, but folks who make $36,500 will only get about 26 percent.

Honey first of all, here in NYC anyone who makes $36,500 is practically homeless, not middle class.

Folks who managed to break 90k will only get 12 percent.

I get that the baby bush the champion of the rich is now trying to anoint himself as the robin hood for the poor but honey…he’s taking away a key motivation for the average joe to work hard all his or her life and then think that come retirement time, his or her hard work is gonna pay off in some liveable social security income.

I do think this pretty much 86’s the whole original idea of social security. This was after all, not supposed to be another version or welfare but a payback for what you work hard your whole life to put into it.

I know, on my end, more and more, I’m realizing that all that money that’s’ come out of my checks will NOT be finding its way back to me.

How bout an alternative here?
Something a little more American…a little more even grounded?

Raise taxes if you have to but leave our retirement plans alone.

That’s where I’m at

Go ahead educate me..
But do so nicely

And
With some amount of respect.. please

The Right Wing Anti Poster Girl

Often when it comes to things political
I consult with my major mentor Gus who is the person in my life who has the most political knowledge, not to mention an immense knowledge of world history..

He’s sorta my own personal …google on a lotta issues

Another think I love about Gus is that he is willing to lash out at things he hates about the Dems as well as the Republicans…which makes his opinions all the more valuable..

Now…of course, it’s no secret how I feel about this administration, just read the preceding post or a whole bunch of other ones.. but I’ve also been extremely curious to see what it is that so many people like about George Junior…because every single person I talk to on any kind of regular basis, including about 90% of my clients just hates the guy... full on hate, but then I’m a New Yorker…

Reading thru the many comments on my “George Bush Challenge” post I was first struck with the same thing that always happens whenever I post anything against Bush…a wave of anger.

That is not to say liberals are not capable of angry ranting as well. I've experienced that first hand in response to my 100% pro-Israel position...but it sure has happened that every time I have ever had the Chutzpah to come out and say exactly how I feel about the baby bush, the back lash is pretty friggen rude.

Let me tell you ...the ones I deleted weren’t even human.

So here’s what I’m willing to concede about the baby bush…no one person can ever be held accountable for the economy…but certainly the tax cuts for the rich and the service cuts for the poor did not fair well, nor did the billions he has spent in Iraq and if you scroll back to my war time rants, you will see that I was not exactly against going to war, but I was totally against going to war on a lie and without the U.N. and without proving why and without having a plan and so on and so on.

As to the Patriot Act, a good pal just told me that her library records had come back to haunt her …Then I got to thinking of how my life is affected on a daily basis by this. Just last night, I waited in line an hour to go into the Holland Tunnel because no one in my van wanted to get the Easy Pass which would get us thru the tunnel in 10 minutes but put our goings on in the easy to track files.for the CIA or whoever else..

Gus had this to day on the subject of the patriot act..
“The Root problem here is that we don’t need more raw information, we need to use what we have. We already can’t translate most of the Arabic chatter we gather”

I also quoted a few posts back from Matrixland on the subject of loss of privacy which is pretty much what the Patriot Act means to me. “Loss of privacy.”

As to the subject of social security… I am not saying social security doesn’t need help…I’m saying I certainly haven’t heard George Bush say anything that shows me he knows what he’s talking about or how to help Social Security and having been someone who has privately invested with the supposed best advisors and lost my shirt..I have some very real and justifiable fear in what will happen to this money..

I know Republicans are not fond of anything that reeks of socialism and maybe they feel social security is just that and needs to be privatized. but what happens if everyone loses their shirt like really, most green folks do in the stock market…and then come crying to the government when they’re old and broke…we certainly will not be able to let them starve on the street…

Gus’s point on this subject was.. “He (bush) grossly overstates the problems and his proposed solution doesn’t even address those problems. He wants to borrow money to set up a parallel system, so folks won’t mind so much when the old one gets busted up.”

And Mike…as always you crack me up…The Right Wing anti-poster girl…..sure seems so…but you know I’d rather be that, then The Right Wing poster girl..or worse yet. The girl afraid to voice her opinion..

Anyway..as always, I invited diversity here on Rossirant..so leave your comments below…but I do ask you to try and get your point across with some amount of good behavior because if you don’t I will delete you and then no one will read whatever it was you were trying to say.

Oh as to church and state…What we’ve got is a real deal born again boy in the white house
The evangelicals claim him as theirs and certainly had a lot to do with getting him elected..
He clearly has anointed himself as a representative of Jesus and to talk against him well that’s not only anti-American its anti Christ.. some folks might want to talk about the funding going into churches right about now...and how those churches turn around and use their services to turn voters the bush way..
I’m sorry but that’s just scary stuff to me.

I’ve definitely had the feeling, as have a whole lotta others that the baby bush thinks he’s being divinely inspired…

Forget about the environment!
Armageddon is coming!

Just out of curiosity has there ever been a president worse for the environment?? I’d really like to know on that one.

There was one comment I really have to mention
by gullyborg who seems to say
its okay to be against gay marriage because the rest of the world is
so following that kind of thinking is like saying its okay to do it if everyone else is
then whats the point of fighting so hard for democracy in the middle east
certainly everyone else in the middle east is not doing it..

and speaking of comments JR…when you do comment in English and in a space that can be read in a few paragraphs, not the mile long scroll down of the last post..I often find what you have to say interesting. I rarely agree with you, are most often annoyed by you but you do often manage to get your point across which I would imagine is really the purpose of these forums isn’t it?

Since only a few of you touched on the environment..
how bout we dedicate the comments below
to Georgies affect on the environment
Because 100 or 200 years from now...
I gotta feeling thats really gonna be the only thing that matters..
wheter or not we even have a world to live in...

The George Bush Challenge

Okay I put this out to JR after my Jimmy Carter post awhile back
but did not get a response..
maybe cause JR did not read this..
still I think this is a challenge I'd like to put out to everyone..

I have a few GWBush loving...folks who like to comment on my site
sometimes rather fiercely and sometime rather rudely
everytime i say anything against the baby bush..

Obviously a whole lotta people in this country love the guy
and I gotta assume that some of them are not inbred hillbillies
or evangelicals

so here's my challenge.

tell me 10 great things about George Bush as president..
thats it..
if you love the guy so much
you voted for him
you defend him
you wanna lynch anyone who speaks out against him
then i'd like to hear it
yes i would
put your proof where your mouth is

i await your comments
10 great things about george bush as president

come on
go ahead make my day

cause i surely must be missing something here

now then
just to put my comments where my mouth is
ill give you right now
10 terrible things about george bush as president

1) he is against a women's right to choose
2)he is against a gay americans right to marry
3)he is against the basic human liberties we have fought for...many aspects of the patriot act are a full on anti-american values document
4)he is eroding the separation of church and state
5)he has imploded the economy
6)he handled going to war in Iraq about as badly as was humanly possible
he either lied to this country about the weapons of mass destruction or ran off to war without proof which is just as bad
7)he did not have a proper plan for the aftermath of the war in Iraq, hence the building billions of dollars and the death toll
8) he has zero savy in dealing with world leaders but excellant at alienating allies
9)he wants to pack the supreme court with right wing pro-lifers...what ever happened to the middle ground here?
10) he now wants to threaten social security...and if his new plan for SS has the same affect as he did on the billions surplus, turned into billions or is it trillians deficit in the country...we better all forget about getting a penny when we retire
okay

there thats the first 10 that popped into mind

anyway
save your nasty
comments
as i will delete you if you get rude
and noboby will read whatever point you were trying to make
just stick to the challenge
10 great things about george bush

i want to hear em
go ahead
