Rest in peace Mr. Senator
I guess I must have managed to avoid the news for just a second
And feel so saddened to open up my computer and find out Ted Kenney has died.
Oh it certainly feels truly like the end of an American era.
If there is an after-life, I imagine Ted and his two great brothers are united, sharing a laugh as they embrace each other.
I know its ridiculous but I did hope that the senator might somehow pull through his battle with brain cancer.
With Kennedy’s history for championing equal rights, I am glad he lived to see America elect it’s first African American President but
I am sad that Kennedy did not live to see health care reform, an issue he felt passionate about.
With the loss a few years ago of Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a great man and now the loss of Ted Kennedy I feel the grand American spokesperson, with old school class of yesteryear is really gone.
Rest in peace sir.

Michael's Law
so Michael Jackson's death may be considered a homicide after all..
The doctor, may be considered a murderer for administering round after round of knock out drugs to the pop icon..
you know, i wasn't there, i'm sure you weren't either but it seems to me that even though the doctor had a medical license he was really just another servant of michael jackson’s and probably felt a lack of job security if he said no to jackson
so he went against what may have been his better instincts to appease this troubled addicted struggling super star get some sleep and the end result was disaster
if it can be proven that the doctor was criminally responsible then yes, of course he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
but i think there is a bigger picture here
Prescription drugs and the big bucks that come with scribbling away note pads to give your clients the narcotics they want to calm down, speed up, forget, remember or just sleep has really gotten out of control
there are millions of people around the world looking for some way to feel better about jackson's death
say what you will about the troubled man, he was loved
so i say lasso that love and maybe help all these grieving people
by starting a new law imposing tougher procedures for doling out
un-necessary prescription drugs
it can be called Michael's Law
and honeys a year or two or more
when this law comes to pass
you can say
you heard it here first

ok i realize that perhaps i may have become a bit too much of a TRUE BLOOD fan
but really alan ball i must protest, stop with the cliff hangers from hell

now then, on to other news...
i'm having trouble understanding why half this country
is so freaked out about the prospect of heath care being offered to the millions who don't have it
this has got to be good for us in the end
ok
maybe you're afraid that you who make big bucks and have health insurance
will have to pay higher taxes to help those who dont have it
yes that is a valid fear
but we also have a country being dragged down by our screwed up healthcare system
and this hurts our economy and then hurts us
and look how many of us think we have proper coverage and get royally screwed with loop-holes, deductibles, high monthly rates and more
i pay more for my insurance than most folks in this country pay for rent
its nuts!
maybe obama's plans have flaws
but why not support the effort
and support it being worked out with less flaws
instead of stampeding against it
all in the fear of BIG GOVERNMENT
sometimes we need a little more government
sometime less
we needed less when the baby bush was tearing up our rights
we need more when its time to save us from wall street
and from a crumbling health care system
i am not part of the obama is perfect camp
i dont see him as the new messiah
you may recall i wanted hillary to win
and still feel sad she did not
but give the man your support
he inherited the worst job
maybe in history
a destroyed economy
millions and millions with no health insurance
no jobs
and he's trying to shovel the crap away
and bring this country out of the toilet
the only thing all this town hall screaming is doing
is making it harder for good people to do the right thing
and making a whole lotta folks think republicans are nuts

TRULY BLOOD-I-Li-CIOUS
Oh what is it about vampires?
Sure caped crusaders have their moments..
The occasional spy who loved me not such a bad thing
And what’s wrong with a little bit of dirty harry?
But vampires oh no honey
This is a whole different stratosphere
This gal was so hooked on buffy the vampire slayer
That I mourned the loss of the show like the death of a good friend
I’m talking a frieind with benefits!!!
And buffy was that, a good friend but hmm no benefits…she’s too femme for me even with the kick ass…but I still had angel
Dark brooding, moody and sexy angel not to mention
Spike the bad boy vampire to keep me company
But then alas Angel also went out in a blaze of glory
And I was left with nothing but ….gasp…daylight
Okay I admit Dexter, while a mere mortal, did fill something of the void
But it was not until the divine alan ball gave us TRUE BLOOD
That the void of fun, dark humour, blood, gore, sex and lots of haunted stares was fulfilled
Oh DELISH!
From the opening theme scene when we see the sign GOD HATES FANGS
it’s clear that the oppression of vamps is a symbolism for oppression of gays
Including their fight to marry…which is certainly current
but vamps have always symbolized the outsider, that's why we love them
You know, I am such a true blood fan that I actually no longer mind coming home from great vacations because I know I can lock myself in
With HBO on demand and watch the true bloods I have missed
