i was going to wish for joy, health and happiness for all my loved ones

well it tis the xmas/chanukah season once again
tonight is the first night of chanukah

i remember growing up i always felt jealous of my christian friends
yes we had 8 days of chanukah
8 days of sitting around the kitchen
while my mom gave us things like

or at least this country was all about christmas

tonight i will eat kosher pastrami with loved ones
and light the menorah
and in a couple of days
i will drink egg nog or hmm wine
egg nog is nasty i think
and watch christmas movies or some such thing or maybe CNN
and share the warmth

went to see gran torino
with clint eastwood
it's been awhile since i saw clint as a star in one his films
just saw the changeling with angelina jolie
and i gotta say damn that clint can direct!
but honey there's nothing like seeing him on the screen
how old is he now 80?

i thought the character her portrayed
in gran torino
as an aging, but still tough
protected but still caring

might just be a lot of who clint really is
or well he's a great actor so who knows

And I went to Washington dc for the weekend
Over thanksgiving
And it was so great to see the city

Granted hotels are hiking up their prices by like 1000%
But I don’t ever recall such excitement about a new president
Then again I was too young for JFK
But dear lord poor obama
I mean what a huge ass pile of shit to have to clean up
Has their ever been a president to walk into a bigger mess

Here we are again in the recession turned depression
Scary stuff
Lives changing
People getting edgy and desperate
The climate is ripe for a new deal
A grand change
A sweeping over of new policies
To not only clean up this mess
But make sure it never happens again
I went to see W the GW Bush movie
And I just didn’t know whether to laugh or cry
How the hell did this country vote in
This spoiled, talentless, semi-retarded, macho, horse-shit,
Jesus loving, pretzel choking PUTZ!
And then to vote him in TWICE!
And just look how much damage this one little prick has done to our fabulous country.

That America is ready to learn from this terrible mistake.
Here’s hoping that Obama will find the strength to somehow plow thru this massive
Mound of strife.
