700 billion of mad ass

here's where i stand on the 700 billion dollar buy out, saving ass thang
first of all like many of you
i'd just like to say
where the fuck where all these do good politicians
all this time when the economy was slowing sinking into the toilet?!?!?
surely this is not some big friggen shock to those in the know
since we taxpapers are now all going to reach into our own pockets for what is it a little under 2,300 bucks each i believe
id like to know why those damn over paid CEO's, execs and such
aren't reacing into their pockets for like a nice dent on the millions
and millions they pulled while their companies were dragging small time investors
and home-owners into the toilet
hey suits- pitch back 50% of what you took while you watched your own company sink into the mud!!
you'll still be rich, the lives you ruined will still be ruined but at least there would be some justice

as a small business owner
ive never had a govenment bail out when things got rough for me
ive been in business for years and years
and the only gift i ever get blessed with is
more bills
so it really ticks me off to see the big boys at wall street
now crying to mommy
but not nearly as much as the notion of gwbush
the person i heard refered to on anderson coopers show
as a highly functioning moron
getting control of doling out the billions

why not let some folks who actually know what they're doing take charge of this money?

im not saying we shouldn't do the bail out
cause now it seems like not saving the losers makes us the biggest loser
something of a double loser, we got screwed by wall street
now we have to get screwed to save them

im just saying id like to see
a whole lot more of the people who raped wall street paying out
for their years of screw ups
and id like to see someone with brains take over this moolah asap
not the same saps who got us into the mess in the first plac
and
please oh please dont even give a dime
to george what am i doing bush

this whole things just makes me mad as a cat with a firecracker entourage

bank blues

i gotta say what's going on with the economy right now
is some scary shit
the big boys going down
now washington mutual
hearing phrases that i haven't heard except from old movies
and history books
like
"a run on the bank"
people actually starting to ask questions out loud
like- how much is my money in the bank protected

i walked into my bank and asked the chick at the desk
just how much protection do we have for this kinda thing
and you wouldn't believe how fast she tried to rush me into the back
of the bank away from the other customers
i mean
wow

were people really to lose the money they have in the bank
there would be a friggen revolution!
here we are in a crazy endless, badly planned
super expensive war, that we went into under a veil of lies
with no exit stradegy
costing billions and billions
while our economy slowly falls into the toilet

this makes me mad as hell

dear lord i hope our next president has a little dollars and cents in his head
after 8 years with an idiot
who we laughed out
now we're crying
all the way to
yep
the bank

The Palin Interview

i watched the charles gibson interview with sarah palin last night
and here's what i thought
he had to ask her and then keep asking her for a clear cut answer
as to how she and mccain would actually boost the economy
and ultimately she only gave vague answers
she had no great response to her support of the bridge to no where
a waste of mega millions

she was clearly pro-choice, anti-abortion even when the pregancy resulted from incest or rape, something i had heard but never heard from her own lips before

I felt horrified that a woman might finally take office
and then promptly attempt to repel women's rights back several decades
what irony

after bragging about stopping ear mark spending
she had no proper response for her own ear mark spending in alaska

yes
she never lost her cool
she did not flip flop
never made any real blunders
in this way
the republican camp probably felt this was a victory

she did say what ive been saying and thinking all along
that it was a huge mistake for obama not to pick hillary as his running mate
something mccain has clearly benefitted from
as you know i am a huge hillary supporter and still feel the burn of her loss to obama and still feel she would make a better president
but this would not alter my liberal views

it's hard to imagine that hillary supporters would be so upset
they would vote for a hard core pro-life conservative like palin
just because she is female

then again
hell hath no fury....

here's hoping
pro-choice
equal rights
wins over against

hurt egos

7 years later

minutes ago the first plane struck the first tower of the world trade center
i watched the ceremony at ground zero as i have every year for the last 7 years
remembered again, what i have never really forgotten
how this morning in september changed us all

today
i i do what i have done in most of these past 7 years
take an inventory
of how differerent i am
since that terrible day
when i watched the towers burn from my roof
in downtown manhattan
i can still hear the screams from miles away
as the first tower impossibly fell like a silver deck of cards
i can still remember the shot of adrenalin
as people panicked not knowing whether to buy water or hide in their homes
i feel as if it was yesterday
the sense that everything i had every been
had ever known
was changing in minutes
that i would never be
the woman who woke up the morning of september 11th 2001 again

i believe today
i am kinder
deeper
more appreciative of anything good or caring around me

i read newspapers, watch the news
two things id rarely done before 911

i tell people i love
that i love them

i don't put things off for a rainy day

i think of all the countries that have been victimized by terrorism
that i felt care for but no deep resounding understanding
i now i feel closer to their pain
no longer innocent

i think of all the readers
faceless people from around the world
who reached out to me thru this web site in those dark days of september
and sent love

i think of the heroes
the amazing, self-less, proud, simple, normal, every day
people who went down to ground zero
to feed firefighters
to dig out body parts
to give massages

i remember cooking hamburgers on a small back yard grill
for hundreds of emergency workers
how their eyes were glazed over in shock, sorrow and determination
and all they could say to us, all we could say to them
was thank you

and oh
just now
the bell struck
as the second plane hit the second tower

my heart
like yours stops for a moment

i stop
listen
feel
remember
and hope
that we all can do everything in our power to honor
these lost innocent lives
and to make sure
that peace and love and kindness is sent into the terrible void
of their passing

have a magical day

be careful what you wish for

Well I guess you do have to be careful what you wish for

I wanted to see Hillary in the white house
So sad not to see a woman in the oval office...
And voila mccain picked palin
A truly conservative right-to-lifer
With little experience who seemed to be on the bottom of his pick list

Im guessing he wanted to snag the hillary followers by picking a woman
But john
She ain’t nooooo hillary!

Now yes she did prove she’s got spunk and fire with her speech at the Republican Convention
But there really wasn’t a whole lotta substance now was there
Seems she’s got to do more then just blast obama

I’m glad mccain picked palin
I think it will help insure that we get a democratic president
This time around
And while yes
Im happy to see a woman at the podium
I also know in my bones
This is not the right woman
