this has been a week
that feels
like the world turned again and still nothing new
the oscars were still boring
palestinians are still shooting rockets at israel from the gaza
the very place that the israelis moved out of as a sign or peace
bush is still an idiot
soldiers are still dying in iraq
and people are still rightly so
wondering why
osama is still at large
and im still sitting here
wondering
why the whole damn world
seems so crazy sometimes
so what's new
well obama is new
a black man who is etching closer and closer
to the possibility of being our first black president
while there's still a chance that hillary might have a shot
at being our first female president
unless you count george bush junior
but no he's a pussy not a woman
there's a difference
i still prefer hillary of all the candidates
and still worry about the amount of experience obama
has
and mccain keeping us in iraq for another 100 years
but bottom line
i do want change
from the republican agenda
so will support any democrat who goes up to the plate
as to the gaza
i had a long talk with an israeli pal of mine the other day
and he's as stumped as we are
is there even a single leader amongst the palestians
who you could really negotiate peace with?
hamas
hezbollah
how can you talk peace to a terrorist who only wants blood
5,000 years of blood
will there ever be peace
in the land of milk and honey
will man-kind ever learn?
i watched Michael Clayton last night
and while it was a fine movie
I failed to see what all the fuss was about
ok lotsa close ups on George Clooney looking
frazzled
can anyone tell me why he shakes his head so much
is it the Katherine Hepburn syndrome
also recently saw No Country for Old Men
and while it had great acting
and anything with Woody Harrelson is fine with me
even the bad movies
it ran too slow
and I never did figure out what the hell happened to the money??
and im told that this film is just friggen art
why is it everytime i watch a movie that folks tell me
is art
i feel its too slow
just about everything i ever saw from Vincent Gallo
felt like slow torture to me
so maybe
im just not the arty film chick
but in fact the big hollywood epic chick
and thats just my guilty pleasure
although i did love
boys dont cry
but put a babe in drag
and im bound to love it
oh well
its a big ass snow storm today
and i need to deliver the last two paintings to the gallery to be hung
for the art show i'm in next week
Fruitasm
by Terry Rozo
and Rossi
opens at the Artist's Room
Feb 28th
and a big woo hooo on that
stay warm kids
and dont let any weird latin dudes
make you flip a coin
ok
im still rooting for hillary
in the issues that concern me
i still think she's the strongest candidate
notably health insurance is on my mind a whole hell of a lot lately
i had oxford
with out warning or explanation they went from a 1,000 deductible to a 2,000 deductible from 795 a month to 891
and that was with the whopping discount i got from being part of a group
no health insurance for those who dont get benefits at work
royally sucks
so i switched to an HMO which i hate
because i want to be able to go in out of network
my group went with empire blue cross blue sheild
so for 700 a month i lose the freedom
to go to any doctor i want
but no deductible
i just started looking thru the book of all the red tape
and the exclusions seems to be longer then the inclusions
half my friends dont even have health insurance
one of my very closest friends pays over a grand a month for his insurance
and they seem to deny just about everything he needs
so he winds up paying out of pocket
it seems its like michael moore says
we'd all be better off taking a fast trip to Cuba
if things get shaky
listen call it socialism if you want to
but this country needs universal health insurance
maybe the poorest can get this thru welfare
and the richest thru cold hard cash
but the middle class
we're just
well stuck in the middle
and it ain't fun here
when and if you get sick
you can go from middle class to poor
real quick
i look around at the homeless people in my hood
and wonder
how many of these poor souls
got this way because they simply got sick
and couldn't afford treatment
lost their jobs
lost their homes
its a sad story
and we are supposed to be the most developed country in the world
aren't we
doesnt feel like it
if Obama gets elected
i will support him
because he's a democrat
he wants change
and i dont have anything against him
except for his lack of experience
but i do think
for my health
id feel more comfortable with hillary in the white house
as to mccain
well he's the least offensive of the republicans
but i think he'll be spending all our health insurance money
on staying in the war
what do you think
well it was certainly a nice breath of hurray over here in nyc
when the giants won the superbowl
ticker-tape parade
hooting and hollering
it almost drowned out super tuesday
now i don't mind telling you
i don't know diddly about football
in all seriousness
i did not even know who was playing in the super-bowl
till the day before the super-bowl
but im happy for nyc
we need all the help we can get with the price of living in this joint
as to super tuesday
&@^@&@**(@( i feel like we were cheated out of some closure
i wanted it all decided by the 11:00 news
didn't you?
one thing is pretty clear
between mccain and the dems
the majority of this country
clearly wants to move away from conservatives
maybe 8 years of bush
was enough to separate church and state once and for all
if that's the case
then i'd finally be able to say there was something good that the baby bush did
he scared people into voting for whats best for the country not what their preacher says
or well maybe he just scared people into voting for anyone
that's not like him
thats fine too
i liked how nice everyone was when i went to vote
they said hello
and goodbye
and thank you
all volunteers
all happy to be taking part in the most important thing
an american can do
decide their own leaders
now i will say
that for america
to really and truly be a land of the free
there should be more then two REAL parties
the problem is
everytime someone stands up and votes
independant
they pretty much steal votes away from the dems
and it helps the repubs
think ralph nader here
its a vote im never willing to risk
but then how the hell with this country every really
have more then two parties
ever really have candidates who can speak their own mind
and not what their party demands of them
for now
im democrat all the way
but wouldn't life be interesting
if there were 4 or 5 or 6 parties
all getting equal donations
respect
and status
not the two giants we have now
with a mouse or two crawling around on the floor nearby
i have no idea how that could ever come to be
but its a nice idea isn't it?
maybe opra could start another party
the opra-crats
half the country follows her lead anyway
i had the oddest dream last night
i kid you not
i was on line to enter a lesbian nightclub
(not that anyone as fabulous as I am would actually wait on line)
and anyway
the doorperson was obama
seriously
and i wound up sitting at this little bar and having a drink with him
and he invited me to further hanging out
and i think he was trying to win me over
so i would be his buddy
and all along im thinking
you're not a lesbian
why are you the door person for this dyke party
but i kinda liked him
he made some jokes
and said
see i can be funny
and all along i felt off
like he was a man pretending to be a lesbian
and trying to win me over as one
a bit of an odd dream
but then again
lets look at it
is obama gay friendly?
some folks say he may be the most gay friendly of the contenders
some say his christian values may make him the least
i feel a bit stumped on this
what do you think?
