i watched on NBC news last night
as Alan, a lovely man who's commitment ceremony reception
to his lover of many years Matthew, I'd had the honor of catering
a couple years ago..., spoke about the possibility of gay marriage
really coming to New York
Alan is a leader and a spokeperson for Empire State Pride Agenda, not to mention
one of the cooler, and cuter, clients i've had over the years...and I felt proud to have helped make his and Mat's special day a little more special..
Last night, watching the news i was as my mother would say, "Kvelling" over
the notion that gay marriage might really come to NY..
oh honeys of course it's fantabulous that it just came to Maine!
what do we have now, five states...it feels like a slow
wonderful crawl of human rights goodness over the nation
but for me,
to have it come to NY
my home
the place I am so proud to be a part of
well that would be a special
special victory..
so to the trail blazers
the pioneers
the fighters of our cause
brave, and well dressed, people like
alan and matthew
and lambda legal defense
i say rock on
you are the warriors in the battle of
equal rights
akin to
the great trailblazers of the civil rights movment
of the 60's
