i guess the closer we come to november 4th
the more i wonder
will this issue be resolved with our next president?
will there come a day when the children today
grown up
are amazed
that much like interracial marriage
gay marriage was actually not allowed
here's hoping
i went to an amazing event last night
that honored some of the great women
who made THE L WORD possible
and was moved by Jennifer Beales
and her teary eyed speech
and i just sat there and thought
WILL and GRACE
QUEER AS FOLK
THE L WORD
showing every day people our story
has done as much for gay rights
as any parade
so now
you turn on the TV
and see our story
you know us
you are our sister
brother
father mother
friend
co-worker
will you please
please
accept that we are
ALL equal
sheesh
