so my chick hillary clinton
is back in the game
proving yet again
that to underestimate a powerful woman
is a big ass mistake
she'd taken ohio when i crashed last night
and naysayers were saying she couldnt pull texas
she'd nabbed texas before i woke up
and the obama camp
was scratching their head
thinking
yeah
i guess we shoulda spent more time with the hispanics
my babe charlotte
over at outtake (see linkie love list)
had a lot to say on the subject
heres a little snippet
from Outtake
"
Our debt is in the billions. We have a war raging in Iraq with
no end in sight. The foreclosures are skyrocketing & oil's @ an
all time high making gas prices obscene. Which candidate can
dig us out of this mess?? The only candidate with the experience,
the know how & the passion....Let experience rein... :)"
and i guess thats how i feel too
i dont have anything against obama
he seems like a good guy
certainly has charisma
and i have the feeling his heart in the right place
and he clearly wants out of iraq
and yes
were he to take the democratic nomination
i would support him
but hillary is seasoned
she's got the experience in and of the white house
she knows what's in store for her in the first 6 months
she's not a babe in the woods
and i feel she has the strength to build back the economy
make healthcare affordable
and get us the fuck out of iraq without compromising
our safety
im not saying that obama can not do those things
but his lack of experience
doesn't leave me with a warm comfortable feeling
everytime i ask someone what they like about him
they say
hes a new face for change
hes a positive energy
but i say
yes
but what exactly has he done
i know you like what he says he will do
its just not comforting
and i do think this is a race issue
i simply do not think
obama would have gone this far in the running for president
if he were white
not with his level of experience
i dont fault anyone for voting for him because he is black
after all the many horrific years of racism in this country
for many seeing a person of color in the white house
would be as sweet a victory as there could be
and quite honestly after all the years of horrific sexism in this country
and around the world
voting for hillary because she is a woman
and seeing a woman in the white house for many would also be as sweet a victory as there can be
for me
a triple minority
seeing anyone who is not a white christian man
in the white house would be a sweet victory
but i do try to put this aside
and think about what would as my friend marilyn said
make me feel the safest
anyway
im glad hill
is back at the plate
hit a home run girl
