so heres my over-all view on israel
now back in manhattan
the people are so rude!
oh my god
i thought new yorkers were rude
they are push you out of the way
till you almost fall on your face without saying excuse me
rude
they are almost run you over rude
they are
bang right into you on the street rude
amazingly
fast
brash
and rude
i realized its a survivor thing
they survived against all odds
gave them a sense of entitlement
on the brighter side
the people of israel
have a joy of life
they dance
eat
party
love
laugh
and dream of one day having peace
but dont expect it any time soon
tel aviv is like a little minny new york
only 230,000 people
not like nycs what is it 8 million?
i always forget
but those 230,000 folks are edgy and fast
and feel more like a million
there are areas of tel aviv like jaffa that are gorgeous
but a bit un safe in places
hence the edge
there are parts of jerusalem that feel as though one were walking in time 4,000 years ago and you are
and there are parts of jerusalem that feel like a cafe in the east village of nyc
there are parts of haiffa that feel depressed and ugly
and parts of haiffa that feel like a magestic palace
and in fact a magestic palace is in the center of haiffa
there is a wine country an hour out of tel aviv
that feels like europe
the north heading towards lebanon feels suburban with strip malls
very new jersey
and shockingly
one of the most beauitiful places to see an amazing view of sky water
cliffs and life
is right at the border literally to lebanon
honestly
i saw so much
but not enough
i needed another week
or a month
plan to go back again and again
