i watched the first episode of "30 Days" on cable
by the guy from "Super Size Me" you know the one who lived on fast food for 30 days..
anyway this was about trying to live on minimum wage for 30 days
he relocated himself and his fiancee to Columbus Ohio where they attempted to live on minimum wage for a month
they left behind their credit cards and only took one weeks pay of a full time week of minimum wage after taxes- left less then most folks i know spend in two days
honey
after watching these two struggle to the point of tears
to just make it thru 30 days
let alone a lifetime
of no health insurance
no way to ever afford health insurance
living in poverty
with no way out
it just made me feel so deeply
for the millions of people in this country
who are supposedly living ok
and yet are living in a way
worse then your average house pet
we search out around the world to help
help
help
all the unfortunate
when all across this country
are people home-less
un-employed
or employed and struggling well below the poverty line
trying to feed their kids
lets look to our own too
lets look inside our borders
cause you know its so true ...
there but for the grace of god.......
FYI
the great jill matrix
at matrixland had some things to say on this as well
love that lady
