Saturday, April 16 love la matrix
read this on matrixland __ "Isn't anyone old enough to remember? In school, I remember them telling us that those who didn't study history were doomed to repeat it. This was in the middle of the Vietnam War, and I thought, we'll never forget this. This will never happen again. Too bad there's no North Iraq to surrender to, so we can just airlift out. How did we forget? Kids were suspended from school then for wearing anti-war shirts or black armbands in protest of the war. Now they're being suspended for wearing gay-positive T-shirts. And, OK, gay-negative T-shirts. The courts ruled in the 1960s that students had the right to freedom of expression, and they may have to rule the same thing again. "Activist judges" overturned racist laws because majority votes and majority opinions would not. Now they're defending gay rights because few others do. That's what it's about: checks and balances, remember? Funny how history and government were my least favorite subjects. I'm glad I had one ear open. " on other news toodles to yer noodles
