Now then
Like many of you, I watched Obama’s State of the Union last night

I thought the dude did a great job considering all the controversial subjects he had to contend with
And I like that he swatted the supreme court for their LAME, ruling allowing corporations to fund ads to their heart’s content

Its’ hard enough to get anything done without big money taking over

Obama is clearly fed up with bi-partisan bull doody preventing good things from happening in this country and so am I!!

You just can’t tell me that every single republican really in his (or her) heart) feels NO is the vote to make NO..not every one of em..
I want to see some republicans stand up and vote YES with democrats
Because their heart and conscience tells them to
To get health care passed and to get other good things passed
And I want to see Dems, stop being such pussies ..show some balls folks!

Like many Americans I’m just sick of all this partisan bull shit
If Dems and Republicans keep it up the whole country will start voting independent and then both sides can just screw themselves.. now that would be fun to see

Hey kids
while i was away in p-town I got to thinking
my damn health insurance is way to high
and then i got home and opened my mail to see that they had decided to raise my rate oh about 20%
for no reason
so i’ve been doing research ever since on finding a better plan
but it got me thinking about obama
i mean the poor guy tried to tackle something that’s been wrong with this country forever
kennedy sure tried
the clintons tried
and to get the damn thing thru the senate
he had to throw out so many great things
like the public option
that he was left with a skeleton plan
but still a step forward
a movement in the right direction
and then i was listening to why Massachusetts when Republican
or rather an independent guy who’s you know sorta Republican
and it was mostly because a lot of them were pissed off the obama
and the dems threw out so much of the plan
now having just hung out with my Mass friends
they all were proud to tell me that they love health care in Mass
because in Massachusetts
they have state run health care that lets them pay according to their income
now wouldn’t that be nice
so since 2009 was such a lousy ass year for everyone
it would be nice if our health care bills went down
not up 20% in my case
anyway
i feel sad that ted kennedy is being honored by having the most liberal state in the U.S. go red
but i also feel sad that so many Dems with all their damn in fighting tore apart this great thing
so what’s the answer now?
well quite honestly i still think giving health insurance to 30 million folks who don’t have it
is a step in the right direction
i am certainly not happy about the cadillac tax if it happens
because after my whopping 20% hike
i’d be getting hit with it probably
i don’t know
sometimes i just wish that Dems and Republicans
could just throw this crap away
and join forces for the good of the country
it makes me ill
that the partisan crap
prevents independent thought
and i think thats what made Mass ill too
so this is a wake up call to Dems
just like Obama should have been a wake up call to Republicans

being out in ptown with no tv and no newspapers
has kept me a bit out of the loop
when it comes to the terrible
terrible plight of haiti right now
but the little bit of news i have been getting
has broken my heart
it feels like the tsunami all over again
i am sooo soo sorry for the terrible pain and loss
in this country that already has so much poverty and neglect
to survive
here’s hoping that help arrives before violence begins
over there

i must admit
that even though i swore to never watch american idol
again after they pulled off the biggest rip off
since GWbush stole the election from al gore
by giving the very very mildly talented chris allen the win
instead of the uber mega freddy mercury talented adam lambert
because of HOMOPHOBIA!

i wound up on a cold january tuesday night in provincetown
going for a little walk
and saw the lights of george’s pizza on
this place has a bar
and heat
so i walked in and asked the bar dude if he would turn on idol
then a small group arrived thrilled to see idol too
and the drinks flowed
i think the bar dude owes me one!
so two vodka gingerales later (my new drink)
i watched idol
i was bummed not to see ellen.. the main reason i wanted to see idol
and posh spice was not much of a sub
sheesh can someone feed this chick
she makes karen carpenter look fat

but man
there were some lousy ass folks trying out
i mean wow
i sing better then some of these kids

but what i realized as some mediocre talents got in
was that you really have to be somewhat good looking to make it on idol
i don’t know why i never figured this out before
but the blonde pizza face guy
he was not gonna get in no matter how good he sang
no high note was gonna open the doors for the zit king

Market-able was the word i heard
and i felt well blonde for not getting it before
you can’t be over 28
to be on idol
you can’t be fat
you can’t be ugly
you can’t have bad skin
so wow

susan what’s her face from england
boyle, doyle
she would never fly here
that’s lame

i want to see a 40-year-old fat lady rock the house!!!

yeah yeah i know
only an idiot would not have figured this out sooner
but sometimes i’m just a little naiive

sigh

can i just ask
am i the only person in the world
who just friggen hates jay leno

i just couldn’t stand this guy from day one

he looks like the elephant man
i mean jeez
how much does that guys head weigh?

then you start with the million vintage cars and motorcycles
and hey the guy just isn’t even friggen funny

then he insists on a 10pm spot
who the hell would wanna watch jay leno during prime time

im glad the show bombed
maybe leno will eat a little humble pie
personally
i dont watch any of those guys
conan
letterman
and the new dude jimmy fallon

but i can tolerate these guys a whole lot more then leno
maybe that’s because their head can fit into an average doorway

i do have a little trouble imagining how letterman has managed to screw so much of his staff
but i guess money and celebrity buys everything
but hey at least letterman is funny
maybe not the best Oscar awards host
but ya know besides that

when it comes to great late night hosts
i thought johnny carson was the end of an era
but i do give conan a huge round of applause for standing up to NBC
and saying hell no
we won’t go to 12:05

HI KIDS
im out in provincetown mass
and honey let me tell you
in january this is a very different town then the crowded summer days
normally it’s like a ghost town in january
but after the hellacious 8 hour bus ride from hell
i did notice more life then usual
seems football had a huge crowd of drunken guys and gals
at a bar called THE PIG
gotta love that name
i guess when only 4 or 5 joints are open i town
they can get crowded with the oh maybe 500 people
here in january
anyway
im here to write, paint and find my inner
diva

who was displaying her art, not music
oh it was a grand evening my dears
full of older hipsters
like 80’s hipsters
folks who remember CBGB’s when it was rough
all dressed in black

while 20-something hipsters

not so cool
i say way cooler!
hey even jessica lange was there

i admit the chelsea art scene has become a bit too
GROSS for my nerves
but once in awhile
it all feels rather groovy
